Different education between America and China

As an international student, maybe I don’t know politics or social class in America, but I really experienced the difference of education between China and America. As we all know, the gap between the poor and the rich is one of the most serious problems in the world. In china, parents’ different incomes cause children accept different elementary and secondary education. For example, if my parents have no money to pay for my tuition in elementary and secondary schools, I will have no school to go. Although in China, we are carrying a nine-year compulsory education movement, it still have no school would accept a student with no money. However, in my opinion, this situation would never happen in USA.

On the other hand, Chinese students have better elementary education than American students actually. We really pay more attention on our studies during high school and work very hard to get high scores so we can go to our dream universities. In high school, Chinese students almost spend at least 12 hours on studying textbook or doing exercises. This is the reason why Chinese students are always better in exams instead of practicing.

And the last distinction and the reason that I chose American university is that American universities have more advanced technology and more rigorous academic environment. Although students get strict training and really can learn some academic knowledge, it’s totally different in Chinese universities. Almost every freshman is crazy at university and every university is like a party school. No homework, no quiz, and even no midterm in Chinese university. You just need to get 60 scores on the final exam of every class. Congratulations, you can graduate.
